ORGANIZATION
UESPT-Portugal organizes the video competition “Sport seen by Youth” as a showcase of the Lisbon Sport Film Festival 2024.
1. DATE E LOCATION
In 2024, the 6th Edition of the Lisbon Sport Film Festival will take place in a hybrid format, with face-to-face sessions on October the 11th, 12th and 13th, at Fórum Lisboa, in Lisbon, and, in digital format, between October the 1st and 10th, on the festival’s website (www.lisbonsportfilmfestival.com).
2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The exhibition “Sport seen by young people” aims to present and reinforce the cultural side of sport, as well as its value as a factor of personal, social and educational development. Films must show experiences, practicals and/or stories that represent sporting values, the social aspect of sport, sports life routines and sentimental relationships with sports modalities or institutions.
3.CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
3.1 In the exhibition “Sport seen by young people”, the films must be made by young people, up to age of 25 (on December 31st 2024), with a maximum duration of 10 minutes, recordings must be made with a tablet and/or smartphone, in HORIZONTAL orientation.
3.2 Films must show experiences, practicals and/or tell stories that represent sporting values, the social aspect of sport, sports life routines as well as sentimental relationships with sports modalities or institutions.
3.3 For the young people interested, it will be organized workshops for video production and a script with recommendations for the presentation of the films in competition.
3.4 Registrations will be made by completing and sending the Registration Form, which form is available online at: https://www.lisbonsportfilmfestival.com/sobre-o-festival/ficha-de-inscricao/
3.5 For candidates under 18 years of age for the “Sport Seen by Youth” Exhibition, the form must be filled in with an authorization from the person responsible for the Youth.
The Registration Form must then be sent, via e-mail, duly signed and in the case of minors duly authorized, to the following address: email: info@uesptportugal.com.
3.6 The director and/or person responsible for the submission of the film to the competition must submit the film to the competition through the Lisbon Sport Film Festival page, on the Film Freeway platform (www.filmfreeway.com), from May 1st, until 24h on July 15th, 2024, in MP4 format, or a link to view their work, as long as it is available for download.
3.7 Registration is free of charge. The works must be completed at the time of registration.

4. SUPPORT FOR YOUNG FILMMAKERS – WORKSHOP
As a way to support the making of the videos by young people, the organization of the Lisbon Sport Film Festival promotes open workshops to young people who want to participate in the show.
The workshops will take place in virtual sessions, in modules with an average duration of 1H30.
The workshops cover the following topics:
I) Narrative development and script;
II) Production Experiences;
III) Sports framework.
The dates are scheduled for the month of April and will be announced on the Lisbon Sport Film Festival website, so those interested in participating in the DIRECTING Workshop should register in their own File on the website www.lisbonsportfilmfestival.com

5. PRIZES
Lisbon Sport Film Festival foresees the awarding of prizes to the best films by decision of the Jury of the Exhibition “Sport Seen by Youth” Lisbon Sport Film Festival 2024.
